Introduction

Before jumping to topic of Bonsai Classes, lets see that is Bonsai.

Bonsai Classes

It is a Japanese art form that has been around for centuries. It involves growing and shaping miniature trees in containers, with the goal of creating a natural-looking, miniature version of a full-sized tree. Bonsai is often thought of as a combination of science and art, but it is much more than that. Here we will try to reach a conclusion about Benefits of Bonsai Classes, in general over self taught and online resources.

Bonsai is a way of life.

It requires patience, dedication, and a deep appreciation for nature, Bonsai Classes can teach you this. It is a way to connect with the natural world and to bring a sense of peace and tranquility into one’s life. Bonsai is a reminder that we are all part of a larger ecosystem, and that we have a responsibility to care for the natural world.

The Science of Bonsai

Bonsai is often thought of as a science because it requires a deep understanding of horticulture and botany. Bonsai trees are grown in small containers, which means that they require special care and attention. They must be watered and fertilized regularly, and they must be pruned and shaped to maintain their miniature size and shape. This aspect of art can be taught in Bonsai Classes.

Bonsai artists must also understand the biology of trees and how they grow. They must know how to manipulate the growth of the tree to achieve the desired shape and size. This requires a deep understanding of the physiology of trees, including how they respond to light, water, and other environmental factors.

The Art of Bonsai

Bonsai is also considered an art form because it requires a great deal of creativity and aesthetic sensibility. Bonsai artists must have a keen eye for detail and must be able to envision the finished tree before they begin shaping it. They must also have a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and be able to create a miniature version of a full-sized tree that looks natural and organic.

Bonsai artists use a variety of techniques to create the desired shape and size of the tree. This can include wiring, pruning, and grafting. They must also be skilled in the use of tools such as scissors, shears, and concave cutters, which are used to shape and sculpt the tree.

Bonsai as a Way of Life

Bonsai is more than just a science and an art form. It is a way of life that requires patience, dedication, and a deep connection to nature. Bonsai artists must be willing to invest a great deal of time and effort into caring for their trees, and they must be committed to learning and growing as artists.

Bonsai is also a way to connect with others who share a love of nature and a passion for bonsai. Bonsai clubs and societies are common around the world, and they provide a forum for bonsai enthusiasts to share their knowledge and expertise.  By you must have come to a conclusion in mind that Bonsai making have tow parts.

(1) Science and

(2) Art.

The Scientific aspect of a particular plant to make a bonsai remains same, and if we truely understood a plant species, its growth pattern, root system, reaction to climate, soil, light, humidity, pruning, root cutting, growth pattern, water needs. We have crossed half way mark into making of bonsai. This is a hard fact, that no one can teach you this aspect of bonsai making, it comes from acquired knowledge.

My journey in the field of Bonsai.

My hobby started with love of nature and it soon started to be inclined to Bonsai, because if i practiced bonsais , I can keep the forest plants like Jungle Jalebi, subabool, Kaintha, khirni, camphor, bargad, Bodhi, kalpvriksha etc. in my home. I started to have a few plants of those varieties and over a period of time by observing I got to know the habits and needs. Such practice helped me a lot. As you are aware , there is no much information available on net or in the books about Indian Plant species, and how to make them into bonsai. This void if information created a space for the people to start Bonsai classes at various levels.

some self styled masters started teaching to make bonsais in their nurseries, over a period of time many hobby groups and associations emerged , which started conducting Bonsai classes with a hefty payment. The only aim of such bonsai classes is to sell plants to students at a premium in the name of bonsai material.

I have often observed that the first plant they sold to the novice hobbyist  is some kind of exotic variety to make bonsai, which will eventually die in coming months.

Contemporary and free modern art have had a significant impact on the art world. They have challenged traditional notions of what art should be, and opened up new possibilities for expression. The traditional practioners always criticize the modern form practitioner.
