Hibiscus  Bonsai

Hibiscus  Bonsai is a robust and easily cultivated tropical hibiscus characterized by an upright to spreading growth pattern.

The  Hibiscus presents as a sizable shrub adorned with red blooms against a backdrop of beautiful variegated green, white, and pink foliage.

The large flowers feature serrated edges and trumpet-like shapes, often displayed in a semi-pendulous manner, resembling a star when viewed from the front. The floral tube is notably elongated and adorned with yellow stamens. Their flowers, rich in both pollen and nectar, serve as a magnet for various pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

This plant tends to grow thick and voluminous. The variegated leaves undergo color changes as they age, exhibiting richer red and pink hues when exposed to ample sunlight. Hibiscus Variegated Bonsai-Sea Queen appears most striking when planted alongside dark green or dark red foliage plants with larger, more prominent, and non-variegated leaves. The green foliage is prominently splashed with bright white, providing a striking contrast to the large red blooms.

Environmental Considerations:

Hibiscus  Bonsai- thrives in hot climates and favors neutral to acidic, well-drained soil with full sun exposure.

Due to its rapid growth, hibiscus prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich soil and regular watering. Ensure thorough watering to saturate the entire root-ball with each watering session.

Allow the soil to slightly dry out between watering, reaching a depth of approximately 1/2″ for small containers and up to 1″ for larger containers. Avoid waterlogging the soil and refrain from using a saucer or promptly drain any excess water 30-40 minutes post-watering.

Care Instructions:
Hibiscus plants thrive in warm and humid environments. Provide them with a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight daily to encourage the development of their beautiful tropical blooms. They prefer to be slightly root-bound in containers, so opt for a pot that offers minimal extra space.

During the blooming stage, hibiscus plants require daily watering. Ensure that your pot has adequate drainage to prevent waterlogging. In the winter months, reduce watering frequency as excessive moisture can harm the plant. Only water when the soil becomes dry during winter.

Fertilize your hibiscus plants during the summer months, especially during the blooming period, either weekly or bi-weekly.
